Gayfield said staff proposed using remaining budgeted funds for the same facility to cover a floor replacement estimated at $19,258.61.
Assistant Law Director Mitch Harden advised there was no formal legal requirement for a separate reallocation motion, but that board approval would suffice. Commissioner Kari James moved to authorize the Superintendent to reallocate approximately $19,258.61 for the Olivedale floor; Commissioner Bob Lovell seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members said the reallocation keeps the work within the same Parks facility’s budget and allows the department to take advantage of the grant that lowered the roof cost. The decision authorizes staff to proceed with contracting and scheduling the floor work; Gayfield will follow up with procurement and scheduling details.
The board’s action follows earlier cost savings on the roofing project and uses grant funding to reduce the Parks’ net expense for facility repairs. The board did not specify an exact start date for the floor replacement in the minutes.
