Lancaster Park Board elects Kari James president, Bob Lovell vice president

The Lancaster Board of Park Commissioners elected Park Commissioner Kari James as president and Park Commissioner Bob Lovell as vice president at its Jan. 7 meeting.
Mr. Bob Lovell moved that Ms. Kari James serve as president; Ms. Kristina Crites seconded and the motion passed without further discussion. Ms. James then moved that Mr. Lovell serve as vice president and that Keely E. Pearce remain secretary; Ms. Crites seconded and the motion passed.
The reorganization took place during a noon meeting that included Parks Superintendent Steve Gayfield, Assistant Superintendent Jen Shamblin and other Parks Department staff, along with city officials including Mayor Don McDaniel and Council members Larry Ailes and Alayna Hoop. The board set its next regular meeting for 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2026, on the second floor of City Hall.
The board did not attach conditions to the leadership votes and recorded the motions as passing unanimously.
