Riverside Township assessor opens 2026 reassessment appeals; outreach session set for May 13

Mary Jo Miller, the Riverside Township assessor, told the board the township office is open for 2026 reassessment appeals and that notices were mailed to households in late April.
"We have until 06/08/2026 to file an appeal if you so choose," Miller said, and encouraged residents who have questions to attend a joint outreach session with the Cook County assessor on Wednesday, May 13 from 6–8 p.m. in the township second-floor auditorium.
Miller said phone lines are busy and email is the preferred way to contact the assessor’s office, although walk-ins are being accepted when capacity allows. She said the office expects appeal counts will track near previous cycles and urged residents with concerns about their assessments to use the outreach session or contact the office by email or phone.
The outreach is intended to help residents who cannot make weekday office hours and to explain the appeals process; Miller said the office will accommodate as many residents as possible during the outreach.
