Riverside Township board adopts 2026–27 budget, approves market vouchers and sponsorships

In the same meeting the board authorized two sponsorships for the North Riverside mayor’s golf outing scholarship fundraiser. The board discussed the sponsorship package—an “Eagles” sponsorship priced at $900 that includes four golfers, carts, meals and a hole sign—and approved purchasing two such sponsorships. Trustee DeCostello moved to purchase two sponsorships; Trustee Clark seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The board also voted to continue the township’s food pantry voucher program for the Riverside Farmers Market. Under the program the township issues four numbered $5 vouchers per eligible pantry participant each month (totaling $20 per month) redeemable at market vendors from June 3 through Oct. 7. Supervisor Wills explained the voucher numbering and vendor procedures used to prevent duplicate redemption; Trustee Clark moved to continue the program and Trustee Navarro seconded. The board approved the continuation by roll call.
