The High School Board of Trustees discussed a project-development agreement (PDA) with Energy Systems Group (ESG) at its May 11 meeting and voted to table the item until the administration and ESG supply additional information on scope, pricing and insurance.
Board members pressed administration and ESG representatives for details, asking whether rooftop solar would increase the district’s insurance costs and how much financial obligation the district would incur if it agreed to the PDA. Administration advised that adding panels increases the insured replacement value and therefore would likely raise insurance costs, but that ESG had not provided final pricing or a clear insurance plan in the version currently available.
A trustee said the district had not yet received promised scope and pricing and favored tabling the PDA. Administration confirmed the PDA document included a deadline (June 10) for ESG to submit scope and pricing; the board voted to table the PDA 6–0 so members could review the additional details when provided.
What’s next: administration and ESG are expected to provide scope and pricing by the June 10 date cited in the PDA; the item will return to the board for further consideration if the details are provided.
