Members of the Marathon County Executive Committee discussed plans to update the county’s strategic plan and to improve engagement between standing committees and department heads during budget development.
Supervisor Brad Robinson said he will begin assembling materials for the strategic-plan update and will work with Administrator Leonard on how related items should be scheduled on committee agendas. The chair said the vice chair and standing-committee vice chairs will help lead deliberations across committees.
The county administrator suggested using upcoming standing-committee meetings as opportunities for department heads to brief board members on departmental work that could affect future budgets and to provide context beyond an orientation. The administrator also proposed a facility tour so supervisors can see county facilities and better understand budget and operations impacts.
Supervisor Robert Rosenberg asked whether 'Act 12' remains an available mechanism to pool funds through intergovernmental collaboration and said he is closely following PFAS-related issues; the meeting record does not include a definitive answer on Act 12 eligibility or application status. The chair noted recent legislative changes to the state-authorized innovation fund and encouraged exploring innovation-fund applications where appropriate.
The committee set its next meeting for June 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. and asked members to submit additional agenda items to administration or the chair.
