Rehberg noted that Oneida County Extension staff include educators Anne Williams and Sharon Krause (Positive Youth Development programs) and Laurel Parins (co‑funded with ADRC to provide evidence‑based health programming). She said the MOU was developed about two years ago alongside the county's contract with UW‑Extension to clarify roles and resources; Chair Jensen will sign the MOU on behalf of the committee after members voted to approve it (Jensen/Newman motion; all ayes).
Rehberg also said Extension recently hired a new artificial‑intelligence specialist and has offered AI workshops for local and county officials emphasizing practical use and data privacy risks. She recommended using secure, paid platforms for sensitive information and noted Extension is developing templates and resources to help counties draft AI policies. Rehberg offered to coordinate future local or virtual AI training if the committee desires.
Rehberg described ongoing collaboration with Nicolet College (Innovation Partner Jill Kuczmarski) to explore programming that could include use of 3‑D printers and youth mentorship tied to technology skills.
The committee approved the MOU and added Extension educator reports and events to future agendas.
