Greg Oswald, representing Kapioma Township, said the township and local landowners considered upgrading to a heavier 12‑gauge pipe but ultimately opted for an 84" 14‑gauge culvert from their preferred vendor. The township will place and pay for the order; Road & Bridge estimated work could begin in about two weeks.
The Commission approved a motion directing the County to reimburse the township $3,094 — described in the minutes as the equivalent cost of the County's baseline (a 16‑gauge equivalent plus delivery) — and County Counselor David Van Parys will finalize an agreement with Mr. Oswald. The motion passed 3‑0.
Next steps: the township will order the 84" 14‑gauge pipe from the vendor; County staff will prepare and sign a reimbursement agreement before installation begins.
