At its March 2 meeting the Gladwin City Council approved several administrative items.
The council moved to appoint Jackie Morgan to the Board of Review to fill the vacated seat of Mike Smith; the motion by Council Member Darlington, supported by Council Member Crawford, carried unanimously. The council then approved an iWorkQ agreement to manage zoning and permitting records; Zoning and Code Administrator Chris Szpara summarized the software’s features (complaint logging, inspections, violation letters and photo downloads), and City Administrator Kimberly Hines said the cost is $5,000 for the first year and $3,000 annually thereafter. Council Member Darlington moved to approve the agreement, supported by Council Member Caffrey, and the motion carried with all ayes.
Council Member Platt highlighted items on the warrant docket; a motion by Council Member Darlington, supported by Council Member Crawford, approved warrants dated Feb. 18, 2026 through March 2, 2026 in the amount of $380,787.98 and payroll of $37,445.37 (all ayes). Adjournment occurred at 6:29 p.m. following routine staff reports.
Administration reports recorded DPW Supervisor Jeff Graham saying a lift in the garage blew a line and needs repair, the boom truck failed certification and needs replacement, the street sweeper requires new brooms, and sewer smoke testing is scheduled for June.
