County outlines seal-coating schedule and notes state culvert work on Highway 60

The highway commissioner reported county seal-coating work planned for the week of the 12th, covering multiple stretches including County Road Double I (about 8.21 miles between County Road I and County Road B), County Road Double Z and County Road UU. County crews have begun clearing trees, setting drainage, and preparing final grading and rock. The commissioner cautioned that steep sections may require dozer assistance for heavy equipment.
The county also reported that the state crew will shut down Highway 60 between Ginger Road and County Road O to replace a culvert; the state plans to install a larger-diameter pipe and perform ditching operations. Officials said closures may last several days though some work could finish sooner.
Staff also noted a meeting is scheduled Aug. 15 to discuss grants and engineering for two boat landings and that fairgrounds bathroom and shower renovations are underway.
