Tooele County Council voted Feb. 17 to approve two contracts recommended by the treasurer's office: a two‑year agreement with Intellipay to process card payments and a three‑year agreement with BillTracks to host online tax notices and provide a payment portal.
Mike Jansen told the council Intellipay will allow the Treasurer's Office to accept American Express and will reduce some consumer fees for small transactions (charges under $60). The Intellipay term is two years with renewable annual extensions up to four years in total.
BillTracks will host county tax notices and keep historical records online; the county will link from the Treasurer's web page to a BillTracks portal. The recurring fee for BillTracks was stated as $75 per month, which staff said can be covered within current budgeted resources. Councilmembers moved, seconded and approved both contracts unanimously.
Staff said the county will begin offering e‑notices through BillTracks and that the payment portal will centralize online tax payments; details on integration timelines were not provided during the meeting.
