APISD board tables new district logo pending design tweaks, approves mission and vision statements

The Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees reviewed a student-designed panther-head logo and discussed branding, vendor applications and quality standards before voting to table the logo so designers can submit a slightly revised rendering.
Staff described plans to copyright approved artwork and make a brand kit (colors, vector files and Canva templates) available districtwide so campuses and vendors apply consistent colors and art. Trustees raised concerns about angular ear and jawline details and how the designs render on apparel; several trustees asked staff to request a version with rounded ears and slightly softened jawline. A motion to table the logo passed on a voice vote (motion by Mr. Mullenax; second by Mr. Galvan), and staff said the rendering could return at the next board meeting.
Separately, the board approved new mission and vision statements. The approved mission reads, in part, "supporting and inspiring our students in their pursuit of excellence with purpose, passion and pride," and the vision was adopted as "Ignite every student's potential." Trustees congratulated the teams and campuses that contributed to the statements.
