The board approved an amendment to the professional-services agreement with Crabtree Warball Associates to fund 10 additional geotechnical borings on the East Elementary site at a cost of $9,950.
Administration described the work as a pass-through expense for geotechnical services needed after coordination with the township changed setback measurements and, consequently, the building footprint. A project representative said the re-borings will confirm subsurface conditions and help size foundations, potentially preventing much larger costs later in the design and construction phases.
The board conducted a roll-call vote; the motion passed with five yes votes and two no votes recorded. Board discussion included questions about why additional borings were performed before finalizing the site plan and confirmation that the amount would be drawn from bond funds.
