Miss Harris provided nutrition updates, reporting that a QR-code process introduced at open house produced more than 80 pre-submitted meal applications in one night and a total of 139 pre-applications to date. She said the division now has 899 students who qualify for free meals, up from last year's figure, and that the negative meal balance has been reduced to $1,814.37 since August 12. "I checked the report on Friday after open house and I had over 80 applications in one night," Miss Harris said.
Board members were told transportation and lunch-line logistics remain a focus as the division smooths operations in the first weeks of school. Dr. Wagner said staff will provide updated counts on the 10-day tally and again at the September 30 enrollment certification.
