Eddy County finance director reports dip in GRT, board approves budget adjustments

Gonzales told the board the county received $6.5 million in gross receipts tax in February, down 4% from the same month last year, and $7.5 million in oil-and-gas collections. She reported year-to-date county revenue collected of $278 million and total expenses of $146.9 million; the General Fund had $176 million in revenue and $99 million in expenses.
Commissioners approved the revenue report and the budget-versus-actuals review for February and later approved resolution R-26-29, which records the FY 2025–26 budget adjustments discussed.
Gonzales also led an interim budget workshop for FY 2026–27 and said staff planned to return with an approval request on May 19.
