Central Connecticut State University will pilot an apprenticeship training partnership with Electric Boat in the School of Engineering, Science and Technology; the agreement (one‑year pilot, July 1–June 30, 2027) calls for a graduate certificate designed for Electric Boat employees and a 5% tuition discount for eligible employees.
Central also will pilot an agreement with the Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce that provides a 5% undergraduate tuition discount for employees of member businesses and a $1,000 graduate scholarship; term is one year (July 1–June 30, 2027). Regents encouraged institutions to continue forming these employer partnerships and discussed developing systemwide partnership standards.
Eastern will enter a three‑year partnership (July 1–June 30, 2029) with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to allow DEEP staff to audit available seats in the Department of Environmental Earth Sciences for $250 per audited course. Regents requested a one‑year update on the Eastern‑DEEP collaboration despite the three‑year term.
Chair Balducci moved, and the committee approved, each partnership separately by voice votes.
