The speaker thanked community volunteers, retirees and parents for ongoing support of classrooms and educators. They also cited personal pride that both of their children graduated from the district and described watching students succeed in classrooms, on stage and on the athletic field.
On deciding to retire, the staff member said there was no single rationale beyond the timing in their life: “I don't have a logical reason to explain it ... I just know it's time.” They said they plan to remain active in public education and the community, attending events and supporting schools in a private capacity.
