Student robotics, mission-patch design and orchestral premiere highlight CCISD convocation

The Clear Creek ISD convocation showcased student work and performing arts alongside district leaders’ remarks. Students from multiple high schools brought an FRC competition robot to the stage and described reaching state and world-level competitions, and a Clear Springs High School student unveiled the winning mission-patch design representing the district’s strategic plan.
Student Katie, who designed the patch, said she incorporated district core values: she added stars to symbolize a student’s growth from elementary to middle school to high school and used a rocket to represent launching into future opportunities. Members of the robotics teams described months of collaborative design work and competition experience.
The event also included a world premiere of a new orchestral piece, "Towards the Raging Sun," composed by Liam Ramy White, a Creekside Intermediate orchestra teacher. Visual and Performing Arts director Greg Goodman introduced the piece; the district band and orchestra, under the direction of band director Tate Vincher and orchestra director Brandon Cornet, performed the premiere.
Guest speakers included alumna Nadia Shanovich, a mechanical design engineer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, who described how early college and robotics programs in CCISD helped prepare her for engineering study and a paid early college associate degree. The convocation closed with hosts inviting attendees to stay for student panels and continue sharing photos and posts through the district’s interactive platform.
