Aransas Pass ISD reports 1,596 students enrolled; honors Panthers and employees of the month

At the Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees meeting on March 24, Superintendent Dr. Barnes reported district enrollment of 1,596 for the period Feb. 10–Mar. 7 and a year-to-date total close to 1,625; average attendance was reported at 91.7 percent. Dr. Barnes said the district saw a recent uptick in flu-related absences and encouraged families to consult the school calendar for upcoming events, including middle-school sports, campus art shows and Senior Service Saturday.
The board recognized several students as Panthers of the Month: Harper Huddleston (Faulk Elementary), Thomas Pulos (Charlie Marshall Elementary), Balin Daney (AC Blunt Middle School) and Travis (Aransas Pass High School). Staff employees of the month included Veronica PL (Faulk Elementary), Amanda Sides (Charlie Marshall), Coach Jacob Rodriguez (AC Blunt), Lisa Smith (Aransas Pass High School), Karen Schultz (accounts payable) and Beth Ward (transportation). Trustees congratulated honorees and invited attendees to take photos after the recognitions.
Dr. Barnes and trustees also encouraged the community to engage with district outreach and enrollment efforts. The meeting proceeded to financial and action items after the recognitions.
