Education advisory board introduces new member, honors outgoing member Jennifer Sullivan

The Village of Royal Palm Beach Education Advisory Board used its May 2026 meeting to introduce a new member, present a certificate of appreciation and accept the formal farewell of a longtime board member.
Chair opened the meeting by introducing new board member Adachi Suarez, who said she is a Royal Palm Beach resident with a professional background in human-resources management and that she looks forward to listening and collaborating with the board. "I'm passionate about education and lifelong learning," Suarez said.
The board presented a certificate of appreciation to Carla Gonzalez De Leon recognizing her time and dedicated service on the Education Advisory Board; the certificate text read by the chair cited her unselfish contribution to the village and thanked her for service during the advisory board’s term.
Jennifer Sullivan announced that the May meeting would be her last official meeting after five years serving on the advisory board. Sullivan thanked colleagues and village leadership and encouraged others to join the board in the future. Board members publicly thanked Sullivan for her leadership and service; one member noted this year marked the first time the board awarded 11 scholarships, an increase enabled by an additional contribution from a council member and funded in part by proceeds from the village's Fourth of July golf tournament.
On routine business, a motion to approve the Education Advisory Board minutes from March 9, 2026, was made and seconded; the chair announced the motion passed. The board closed with reminders that scholarship recipients will be recognized at the village council meeting on May 21 and then adjourned.
The board encouraged public attendance at upcoming graduation and promotion events and said contact information for volunteer or board opportunities would be shared for those interested in serving.
