Royal Palm Beach schools report $4.5 million in scholarships, high senior metrics

"$4,500,000 in scholarships have already been awarded to students at Royal Palm Beach High School," Dr. Green told the board as part of secondary-school highlights. Dr. Green also reported that 100% of seniors had met reading goals, 100% had met math goals, roughly 82% had earned acceleration points, community-service completion stood at about 99.4% and GPA thresholds were near 99.63% at the time of the report.
The board and mayor highlighted program successes that likely contributed to those outcomes. Mayor Jeff Amara and other speakers noted the growth of the Navy JROTC program; the mayor said the program produced three Navy ROTC scholarship awards this year, each described in the meeting as $200,000 scholarships, and that a graduate has accepted placement at the U.S. Naval Academy.
In addition to districtwide testing and strategic-plan updates, presenters described local school events—kindergarten kickoffs, family literacy nights, volunteer awards and STEAM projects—that leaders said help build college and career pathways. The Central Region liaison noted the district is wrapping up Progress Monitoring 3 testing and will use the results to compare this year’s performance with prior years.
Graduation and promotion dates were announced: Royal Palm Beach High School commencement is scheduled for May 18, and several elementary and middle-school promotion events were described on the meeting agenda. District leaders asked residents to watch for published schedules and encouraged attendance at upcoming celebrations.
