At its April 14 meeting the School Board of the Oregon School District approved the Consent Calendar and ratified several personnel and financial actions.
Consent items approved included the March 24, 2025 board meeting minutes, payments totaling $488,789.23 and the Treasurer’s report ending March 31, 2025. The board recorded acceptance of staff resignations and retirements effective June 10, 2025: Beth Nelson (1.0 FTE science teacher at Oregon High School; retirement after 19 years), Diane Musser (.9 FTE occupational therapist), Samantha Struss (1.0 FTE math teacher at OMS and FES), Magda Gammon (.4 FTE speech/language pathologist) and Sharon Head (1.0 FTE case manager at BKE). The Consent Calendar also approved a staffing assignment naming Christine Mitlyng (Deutscher) as a 1.0 FTE associate principal at Oregon High School.
The board accepted donations to district facilities including an anonymous $55 gift for the Splash Pad (Ron Janssen Memorial), $5,000 from June & John Glennon for the Splash Pad, $100 from Bob & Leitha Schenkenberg for the pool and $2,500 from Kwik Trip for the Splash Pad.
In separate action items, the board approved issuance of 2025–2026 educator contracts (motion by Heather Garrison, second Leslie Wright), licensed non‑represented contracts for 2025–2026 (motion by Leslie Wright, second Dr. Mary Lokuta) and 2025–2027 administrator contracts (motion by Dr. Mary Lokuta, second Dr. Caleb Bush). Each of those motions passed by roll call vote 7-0 according to the minutes.
The minutes record the board’s unanimous vote on these matters and include a formal roll call for the Consent Calendar approval and for each contract vote.
