The board conducted interviews with three student candidates on May 12 as part of its process to appoint student representatives. Candidates described how they would gather and report student perspectives to the board.
Emily Davidson, a junior who mentors younger students, said she would advocate for life-skills students and bring feedback to the board through ASB and social media. Maggie Taylor, active in performing arts, emphasized connecting extracurricular programs and boosting participation. Ron Waters, a sophomore involved in performing arts, focused on budget allocation and ensuring resources support student programs.
Committee members explained the rubric and scoring process and said they will assemble notes and follow up by email in a few weeks with next steps.
