Parents and volunteers propose new playground swings and park repairs in Snowville

Deputy clerk Stacey Hill said grant checks need an itemized plan and receipts, and volunteer Kjerstin Wilcock said some playground grants require a 50/50 match. Trudy Smith reminded the council that insurance and safety standards can limit equipment choices and spacing; she recommended organizers provide manufacturer specifications and verify compliance with municipal liability rules.
Council members encouraged volunteers to prepare a simple plan: site layout, proposed equipment and firm cost estimates, plus any sprinkler or stump remediation needed. The council suggested the group return with bids and a funding plan; staff said they could circulate the plan with the water bill and that a formal grant application would need estimates and matching funds where required.
