Buffalo County Board of Equalization reviews valuations, sets May 5 deadline for appeals

Chairman Dawn Cable called the Buffalo County Board of Equalization to order at 1:05 p.m. April 14, 2026. Commissioners Donita Loudner and Rex Zastrow were present; Lee Sinkie, Director of Equalization, and Debra Morrison, Auditor, attended.
The Board began the meeting by signing Oaths of Office for the Board of Equalization. Commissioner Donita Loudner moved to accept the board agenda; Commissioner Rex Zastrow seconded the motion, which passed with all three commissioners voting Aye.
The Board reviewed countywide property valuation matters, including average property valuations, property classifications and a comparison of 2026 Ag A (agricultural class A) land values with those from 2025. Commissioners also reviewed the county’s exempt properties list. The Auditor reported that no appeals had been filed with her office; the Board recorded that the last day for the County Board to act on appeals will be May 5, 2026, at the regular commissioners meeting scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
No executive session was requested during the meeting. Commissioner Loudner moved to adjourn; Commissioner Zastrow seconded and the motion carried with all voting Aye. The meeting adjourned following the motion.
