Deputy CAO outlines pro-housing designation, asks public to complete short survey

Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Lisa Judd described the County’s pursuit of a pro-housing designation and related Housing Action and Implementation Plan at the Big Valley Area Council meeting on March 11.
Judd said the pro-housing designation is intended to facilitate housing developments by prioritizing funding, allowing pilot incentive funding, accelerating production time frames, reducing construction and development costs, and providing financial subsidies where appropriate. She explained that the County can pursue some or all of four categories of affordable-housing actions and that continuing a pro-housing designation helps the County score higher for future competitive grants.
Judd encouraged residents to view the March 3 presentation made to the Board of Supervisors and complete the short survey. When committee member Mark Lipps asked whether Judd had reached out to Nicole Flora at the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, Judd said she would follow up.
No formal commitment or ordinance was adopted at the meeting; Judd characterized the presentation as outreach and a step toward improving the County’s eligibility for housing-related funding.
