The staff presenter noted the board’s attorney confirmed promotional uses are allowable under the relevant statute but suggested such spending should stay within the roughly 10% promotion cap applied to the 4B funding set.
Board members discussed who would attend and how costs would be managed; staff said leftover funds would be returned to the balance. A motion to allocate $75,000 was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff will coordinate participants and reimbursements and will report back on actual expenditures after the event.
