Henry County commissioners approve consent items; health department to launch community assessment May 1

The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine items on April 22, 2026, and heard a public-health update from the county health department.
The board approved the minutes of April 8, claims, payroll, the Clerk’s monthly report for March 2026, the Weights & Measures monthly report for March 16–April 25, 2026, and the Innovative Technical Solutions monthly report for March 2026. Most motions were moved by Susan Huhn and seconded by Joe Wiley; each carried 3–0 as recorded in the minutes.
The board also approved Affidavit 2016-107 reimbursing Knightstown Youth Sports $15,000.00; the motion was made by Susan Huhn, seconded by Joe Wiley and recorded as carried 3–0.
Jason Craig of the Henry County Health Department provided an update to the commissioners. "The Health Department will be hiring for Director of Nursing position," Craig said, and he reported an update on the county’s Opioid Settlement Funds committee. Craig also told the board that the Community Health Assessment will launch on May 1, 2026.
There were no public comments or recorded objections to the consent agenda in the transcript. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn moved by Susan Huhn and seconded by Joe Wiley; signatures on the minutes show Steve Dellinger listed as President and Joe Wiley as Vice President with Debra G. Walker attesting as Auditor.
