Engineering updates: active issues log, Will McKenzie neighborhood concerns and upcoming SDC presentation

Engineering staff reported progress on the active issues log, described mapping and data-collection efforts with PD and GIS, and said Keller Associates (the city engineering consultant) is working through a monthly-retainer work plan that limits the immediate scope of projects.
Residents from the Crestview Crossing/Will McKenzie area described increased traffic, parking stress and perceived safety hazards after single-family lots converted to apartments; staff said Benjamin Road serves as the city-limit delineator there and that the request will be added to the issues log for prioritization. A commissioner suggested the commission could help prioritize stop sign requests, pedestrian crossing safety and speeding concerns in future work-plan discussions.
Why it matters: the commission is refining priorities ahead of the next budget cycle and staff said the city manager will present on SDCs (system development charges) in July; the commission discussed seeking a grant to update long-range transportation planning and to fund studies and capital work in the 2027–29 budget window.
Staff asked the commission to refine its work plan at a July meeting to turn priorities into action items. Keller Associates will continue producing site-specific evaluations for uncontrolled intersections and stop-sign requests as part of the active issues log.
