The Berkeley City Council on Dec. 3 unanimously approved a resolution adopting a memorandum of understanding with SEIU Local 1021 (CSU PTRLA).
Councilmember Sophie moved to approve the staff recommendation, saying, “I'm really excited that we were able to close this contract. And really pleased that, Barclays workers will be getting the raises they deserve.” The motion was seconded and, after no further discussion, the clerk called the roll. Councilmembers Taplin, Bartlett, (Chagub), Hahn, (Unupara), Humber and the acting mayor recorded affirmative votes and the motion carried.
There was no staff presentation on the item at the special meeting and no public comment on the consent calendar item during this session. The council took the vote as presented in the staff recommendation and adopted the resolution.
The approval completes the council action on the memorandum of understanding for this special meeting; councilmembers moved immediately to adjourn afterward.
