BLM posts realty action on sale of golf-course acreage; council urged to submit comment letter

Staff asked the council to authorize the mayor to send a letter supporting the sale; the liaison offered to draft the city letter for the mayor's signature and to provide the public with comment instructions via the city website.
The liaison reported outreach already underway with county commissioners, the state public-lands policy office and regional stakeholders; several organizations indicated they will also submit comments. Council agreed staff should draft and submit a letter and asked that the website include the BLM comment link and guidance for residents.
No formal vote on policy was recorded beyond the council granting the mayor authority to file the city letter; the public comment period and BLM response process were described as the next steps.
