Lancaster County commissioners approve claims, contracts and routine items; award Corrections staff

At its Feb. 24 meeting the Lancaster County Board approved minutes and claims (including a $7,950 claim to The Mediation Center), renewed and amended multiple contracts, authorized vendor agreements with no county cost, approved two automotive repair contracts not exceeding $15,000, and presented a Commissioners' Award of Excellence to a corrections employee.
The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 24 handled routine business including approval of minutes, claims, contract amendments and several vendor agreements.
Minutes of the Feb. 17 meeting were approved in a 3-0 vote with two abstentions. The Board approved claims processed through Feb. 20, 2026, including a payroll amendment noted by the Clerk, and approved a specific claim to The Mediation Center in the amount of $7,950. The Clerk also presented three claims for goods and services beyond the 90-day period under Neb. Rev. Stat. §23-135, which the Board approved.
The Board approved consent items including contract amendments with Production Creek LLC (renewal for apparel supplies), Information First Inc. (HPE RM/Content Manager support), and Voss Electric Company (electrical supplies), and accepted right-of-way payments to landowners Lee Raymond Benes and Mark Lauterbach. All consent items were approved 5-0. Commissioners also approved annual automotive paint and body contracts with Miracle Workers Auto Collision and Morrow Collision Center (combined not to exceed $15,000), an ADP Inc. agreement for employment verification (no cost to county), and a special event permit for Gravel Quest LLC.
The meeting included the Commissioners’ Award of Excellence presentation to Brent Wrinkle of County Corrections for safety-related response and teamwork; Corrections Director Brad Johnson and Wrinkle spoke about the incident and the role of training.
The Board adjourned at 9:58 a.m. following the meeting votes.
