The Columbia Borough Council took several administrative and housekeeping actions on May 12.
- Agenda and minutes: The council approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from April 28, 2026.
- Bill payments: Council authorized payment of borough bills.
- Special events: The council approved a special-event permit and fee waiver for the Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Eucharistic procession scheduled for 06/07/2026 and agreed the borough will assist with barricade logistics and officer crossings. The council also approved a one-day event for MJM Hoops LLC at Maple Park on 05/30/2026 provided the group submits the application fee and any late fee.
- Advisory board removal: The council voted to remove Chris Greer from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for failure to attend meetings or participate in events over the prior 18 months. Members noted the seat remains open to reapplication.
- Zoning-board vacancy: Council authorized staff to prepare a resolution to appoint Jesse Rabinowitz to a zoning hearing board vacancy; the formal appointment will be made by resolution at a future meeting.
All motions were approved without recorded opposition during the meeting; council members indicated unanimous support for the items as presented.
