Borough staff presented a snapshot of Market House finances on May 12, reporting year-to-date revenue of $23,498 against expenditures of $50,222. The budgeted revenue for the year is $62,000 and the total expenditures were listed as $102,864.
A staff member said changes to staffing — specifically reducing the hours of an existing manager and hiring a part-time assistant — are expected to reduce borough costs by about $14,000. "Bonnie has agreed to go part time. We're hiring an assistant manager part time. That's gonna eliminate the benefits," the staff member said when describing anticipated savings.
Councilors acknowledged the market is operating but asked staff to monitor the numbers through the end of the year before proposing further structural changes. No formal budget reallocation or vote was taken at the meeting.
