Ferron Council approves consent items, hears county recorder candidate and schedules Arbor Day

The Ferron City Council approved routine consent items on April 15, including the March 11 minutes and a rental-property utility-permission form.
Karen Richards, a candidate for Emery County Recorder, introduced herself and said she has worked in county offices for about 11 years. "One thing I would like to be my goal is to have all the offices in the County Building work closely together to move things forward in a way that is even more transparent, accurate, and timely, while being friendly and approachable," Richards said.
Councilmember Ray Petersen introduced an Arbor Day declaration; the council agreed on an April 24 celebration but postponed tree planting. Councilmember Vance Brown moved to donate $200 each for the three boys attending Boys State, for a total of $600; the motion passed.
