"You do have the results from the Saturday, May for single member District 4 and single member District 2," the administrator said, adding the results were provided "as tabulated" for trustees' review.
A trustee formally moved to approve the canvass, saying, "Madam president, I move we approve the canvass." Another trustee seconded the motion. The president called for a voice vote; members answered "Aye," no opposition was recorded and the president declared that "the motion has been carried," formally approving the order canvassing the returns.
After the vote, one trustee praised an opponent, saying, "Kudos kudos to my opponent. She ran a great campaign. I think she'll do a great job." The same trustee raised turnout as an operational issue for future consideration, stating, "The Saturday turnout was actually the lowest turnout of any day that we had," and suggested the board examine whether different voting times would improve participation.
The administrator thanked outgoing trustees for their service, specifically addressing Mr. Newsome and Mr. Lehi and offering them access to the Rose Room and Friday night football games as a token of appreciation. The meeting closed after brief final remarks and an adjournment vote.
