District construction staff provided a May 2026 Bond 2023 update, describing progress at multiple campuses and an aggressive summer schedule to complete work by the district’s August 1 deadline.
Presenter Mott said Bentley Junior High alternate is progressing with beam pours planned for the week and that site and foundation work is underway. He described visible staging for athletic, fine‑arts and academic wings and said roofing work should begin within one to two weeks on cafeteria and library areas.
Mott noted a notable logistics achievement on HVAC installations: "We flew 143 units in 4 and a half hours," and said crews averaged about two minutes per unit with short refueling stops for the helicopter. He warned weather and masonry availability had impeded some work and said the district expects to use about 71 calendar days (roughly 49 working days) to complete heavy summer work, which may require extended schedules including some seven‑day weeks.
The update also referenced site utility work (city sewer connections and road preconstruction) and a Prop C scope beginning May 26 at several campuses. Mott asked trustees for questions and for their awareness of the tight timeline and moving logistics across campus sites.
