The Waxahachie Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 11 read and certified the results of the May 2026 Board of Trustees election, administered oaths to newly elected members and elected board officers for the coming year.
At the meeting the board announced Place 1 vote totals as Gary Fox 1,007, Nick Jordan 425 and Daniel Hobbs 450. For Place 2 the board reported Clay Scofield received 1,394 votes. Mrs. Debbie Timmerman moved to accept the canvass; Mrs. Kriegel seconded and the motion carried by voice vote 5-0.
County Judge John Ray administered the oath of office to newly elected trustees immediately after the canvass was certified.
After reconvening, trustees nominated and approved a slate of officers. The board approved a motion naming Dusty Autry board president, Debbie Timmerman vice president and Ryan Pitts secretary; the motion passed by voice vote 7-0.
Votes at a glance: the motion to accept the canvass of the May 2026 election carried 5-0; the motion electing Autry, Timmerman and Pitts as board officers carried 7-0. The board later approved the consent agenda (items A–K) by voice vote 7-0 and then adjourned.
