On the 5000 series, Dr. Settles said staff are awaiting attorney updates tied to the recent legislative session; if those updates arrive in time, revised 5000 language will be presented to the board at the June 8 meeting, otherwise later in June or at the first July meeting.
Board members asked for clarity on how hiring committee members will be trained on the new internet‑search guidance and whether individual committee members who perform searches must report findings to the panel. Dr. Settles and the superintendent said annual administrator training covers hiring practices and that building leaders and hiring leads would be responsible for ensuring committee members follow the policy. Staff said they would confer further with KSB and return clarified language before final action.
