Mahaska County supervisors approve routine business, set budget hearing and approve subdivision and IT training

The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors dealt with routine administrative business during its April 6 meeting and recorded several unanimous approvals.
The board approved minutes from the March 16 meeting, the March 2026 claims report and the Recorder’s third-quarter report after motions by Wanders and Webb. The board also set the public budget hearing for fiscal year 2026–27 for April 20 at 9:40 a.m.
On community and departmental items, the board approved allowing the Chamber of Commerce to use the courthouse parking lot for events. The board approved both the preliminary and final plat for the Renaud Subdivision. Danay Garcia spoke in support of county IT training and the board approved IT training with the ICIT Tech Team.
A member of the public, Paul Gruefe, phoned in to ask about actions taken by the county following an alleged slur at the March 4 meeting; the April 6 minutes record the call but do not show a board response on the record. The board adjourned at 9:53 a.m.
