Saint John council unanimously backs renewal of Logan's Love sponsorship ahead of June golf outing

Christina Lamakis, director of marketing and community outreach for Jimmy John's in Northwest Indiana and a Logan's Love committee member, told the Town Council on May 13 that Logan's Love has worked to bring Project Lifesaver to the region and has distributed more than 600 "Ben's Blue Bags" across Northwest Indiana through fundraising.
Lamakis described the nonprofit's mission in memory of a 10-year-old boy named Logan and asked the council for continued sponsorship for the organization's third annual Logan's Love Logan Speaks golf outing on June 19, 2026 at Wicker Park in Highland. "Your generosity truly helped us continue growing our mission here in Northwest Indiana and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership," she said.
A council member asked whether the town could post a sponsorship poster in the town hall and then moved that the council support Logan's Love "at the same level as last year." The motion was seconded and the council approved the support 4–0. Council members thanked the presenters for their work and for visiting Saint John.
What happens next: the nonprofit will receive the renewed sponsorship commitment and council members were invited to attend the June 19 golf outing.
