Judiciary chair delays vote on S.208 amendment, signals likely unfavorable recommendation

"I'm gonna ask to find it an unfavorable, because I really I really feel that my duty as a legislator... if this is litigated... it will be found unconstitutional," Chair Alon said. The chair asked staff to provide available amendment language and said the committee will reconvene to vote when that language is available and when members' schedules allow.
No formal motion or vote occurred during the session. The committee discussed scheduling options, including finding time Rep. Oliver is available, and acknowledged the amendment may be considered off the floor depending on the legislative calendar.
