Board highlights community survey and upcoming facility reports as strategic plan period ends

An administrator (speaker 7) briefed the board on community engagement steps tied to the conclusion of the district’s 2021–2026 strategic plan. The district mailed a summary flyer to households and launched an anonymous survey, conducted by third‑party School Perceptions, to solicit resident and staff feedback on topics including long‑term operational funding, middle‑school facilities, enrollment shifts and elementary building use.
The administrator emphasized that the survey is intended to gather input before decisions are made, not to promote a predetermined outcome. He said the survey is open through June 1 and that preliminary survey data, together with updated building condition reports for district schools (to be produced by PRA and JP Cullen), will be presented to the board at the June meeting.
The briefing included progress metrics cited in the mailed flyer: administrators noted more than 400 students are participating in career pathways and apprenticeship opportunities alongside approximately 145 distinct employer partners. Board members took turns encouraging community members to complete the survey and asking the administration to publish preliminary results and facility updates at the June meeting.
Trustees also identified forthcoming agenda items: a preliminary 2026–27 budget report, updated building condition reports for elementary schools and the high school, and civil engineering studies to inform facility planning.
