Board approves consent agenda, including new hire and donations

The Fort Atkinson Board of Education approved the consent agenda at its May 13 meeting by roll call. The motion was made by Mr. Loop and seconded by Mr. Lewis; Ms. Haas conducted the roll call and all present trustees voted yes.

Items listed on the consent agenda included minutes of the April 16 regular meeting and the April 27 reorganizational meeting; personnel items (the board asked to approve the appointment of Rebecca George, 1.0 FTE kindergarten teacher at Purdy Elementary School, contingent on release from current contracts and background check, and to accept the resignation of Anna Albert, 1.0 FTE special education teacher at Purdy Elementary School); a second read of board policy 0155 (committees update); open enrollment and early graduation requests; the pupil nondiscrimination report; authorization to dispose of obsolete equipment; participation in the Wisconsin School Nutrition Purchasing Cooperative; and routine business including a budget transfer and payment of district bills and the treasurer’s report.

The board also accepted donations identified on the consent agenda: $1,200 from the Fort Atkinson Music Boosters Association for high‑school music expenses, $1,000 from the Lions Club for the high‑school band program, $7,500 from Lauren Bridal for sponsorship funds, and a $2,000 anonymous donation for the scholarship fund. The meeting record lists these gifts as presented by district staff.
