RATHDRUM — The City Council approved an ordinance that amends the Hollis Woods commercial zoning to add contractor services as an additional permitted use on roughly 9.54 acres currently designated general commercial (C-1).
City counsel presented the ordinance and noted it follows an earlier public hearing in which the zoning change was approved. "Essentially, the request was to keep the same zoning of commercial, but to add an additional permitted use of contractor services," counsel said.
A council member moved to place the ordinance on first reading by title only, waive the second and third readings, and later moved to adopt the ordinance by summary. The motions were seconded and the roll-call votes recorded in the meeting transcript indicate the motion carried.
The adopted ordinance includes standard provisions: conditions for the rezone, severability, and an effective date. Staff said adoption formalizes the permitted use change approved at the prior hearing; no formal appeals or remonstrances were recorded during this meeting.
The council incorporated the ordinance title into the publication summary and approved publication as provided by city procedure. The ordinance will become effective according to the timeline set in the adopted text.
