The board heard a personnel report and recognized student-athletes at its May 16 meeting.
Mister Geiss, the district personnel presenter, announced administrative assignments: Allison Como Keyes will serve as principal at Corolla Elementary; Good Hope Middle will add assistant principals Jennifer Rauch and Benjie Lewis; Robbie Evans was named assistant principal at Sterlington Middle; Claiborne Elementary’s incoming assistant principal was announced as Amanda Awesome; and Christy Fine was named assistant principal at Woodlawn. Geiss said committees reviewed candidates and made selections following retirements.
The board then recognized numerous student achievements: West Monroe High’s boys power-lifting team, Sterlington’s Division III non-select softball state champions, and a series of individual state track champions from West Ouachita, Ouachita Parish High School and West Monroe. Board members congratulated coaches, principals and the students for statewide successes.
Board members expressed pride in district staff and students; these recognition items were presented without formal board votes.
