Commission approves Racetrack fueling station with no‑overnight‑parking condition

The Weatherford Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved rezoning and a conditional‑use permit for a fueling station at 825 Old Brock Road, subject to conditions including signage prohibiting overnight parking.

Sergio of city staff told commissioners the applicant revised an earlier proposal to remove truck parking and scales and to reduce the store footprint. Tony Retigliano, representing Racetrack Inc., said the changes reflect feedback from the commission and council and described further commitments to site design.

Retigliano said the revised plan keeps four dedicated diesel lanes but eliminates large truck parking and the previous travel‑center scale. “We certainly can commit to the no parking signs,” he said, and added the company would implement towing policies to discourage overnight stays.

Commissioners discussed enforceability; staff said conditions requiring signage and a no‑overnight‑parking stipulation can be included in the CUP and would be enforced by periodic audits and standard code‑enforcement actions.

The commission voted to approve the rezoning (AG to C‑2) and CUP with the noted conditions and directed staff to include signage language stipulating no overnight parking in the CUP.
