Reflecting the board’s vote, one board member recorded a 'no' vote (Justin); the motion otherwise carried. Supporters emphasized the advantage of a mentor who is already familiar with the district’s IEP systems and paperwork and who can provide more tailored, shoulder‑to‑shoulder coaching for less money than an outside contractor.
Administration said the hire would be a one‑year arrangement, with the district ending the CESA 5 contract for that mentoring service for the year; the board approved the position and hiring recommendation during the meeting.
