District staff: bond projects ready to start this summer after permit delays; playground, roof and field prioritized

District staff reported at the community briefing that planning work on bond-funded capital projects has progressed after permit delays and that construction is expected to begin this summer.
Brooke, speaking for district staff, said the district was unable to begin some work last summer due to permitting setbacks but that crews are expected to start this summer. She said priorities include a courtyard playground at the middle/high school, roofing and siding repairs, bathroom upgrades at both buildings, entry vestibules to improve safety, and a new field, track and press box at the middle/high school. Staff indicated projects are being prioritized into core commitments, community-requested items and an outer ring of work if funding remains.
Brooke said the total bond program is expected to take roughly three years to complete and that project phasing will focus on the most critical work first. Community members were invited to attend upcoming events where designs and timelines will be shared.
