Curb bumping and street sweeping: The committee approved a renewal of curb bumping and street sweeping services for 41 county streets (agenda item 2025‑1006) with awards to Patco Services LLC and Sweeping Corporation of America LLC for a total not to exceed $123,364.72. Department staff explained that curb‑bumping crews loosen debris so night sweepers can collect it, that sweepers focus on high‑corridor roads, and that additional roads may be added to the contract on request. Commissioners added several roads (including Constitution Road, Boulder Crest and Pleasantdale Road) to the contract before approving the item.
Sidewalks and minor road work: The committee approved change orders to two multi‑year sidewalk/roadway contracts (agenda item 2025‑0953) to extend term and increase available funds by up to $1,000,000 through Dec. 31, 2026. Director Lampy said the contracts are used by multiple county departments for sidewalks, drainage improvements, bike lanes and minor road repairs. Commissioners discussed replacing problematic granite curbs with concrete for longevity and drainage, the per‑district $50,000 sidewalk allocation under earlier board direction and potential use of recent grant funds to support sidewalk work.
